                                                                   Urine Pack

This method is where you use cotton or cloth dipped in urine and apply it to the problem area and let the skin absorb it.  Depending on the ailment, you may want to repeat multiple times per day.  The urine should be collected first thing in the morning and stored in the refrigerator for later use.  For best results, use urine that is 2-3 days old.  The ammonia has been broken down at the point, upping the bacteria killing and improving absorption through the skin.

Take out the preserved urine from the refrigerator, pour what you need it into a smaller container and warm it up.  It is not recommended to microwave it.  Instead, I soak the container in warm to hot water to heat it up.  If you have liquid propolis extract, you can add a few drops and stir.  Doing so may prove effective if the affected part is bleeding.  Using a cotton swab or cloth, dip it in the solution and place it on the core of the affected area.  There is no set time, but in Lamu’s mast cell tumor, the whole treatment took 20 minutes.  Every three to five minutes, I would resoak the swab or cloth and reapply, repeating it three or four times.  After the treatment, gently wipe the area with a clean wet towel or napkin.  Then apply a few drops of propolis and for good measure, I apply Sonbayu horse oil.  Repeat this treatment several times per day.  I usually do it 3-4 times per day.  For minor wounds, doing it once or twice per day should suffice.

Applying the solution to insect bites will reduce the itchiness.  If the area is inflamed, you can use urine with liquid propolis extract.  Propolis is very effective in reducing inflammation.

                                                                 Urine Soak

Another method is to dip the affected body part in urine.  You can fill an appropriately sized container with the urine and let the body part soak in it.  For humans, this method is known to be effective for athlete’s foot or other skin ailments.  Dogs sometimes step on items on the ground that may injure their pads or cause the skin between their toes to swell and turn red.  If something penetrated the skin, you may need to take your dog to the vet to have it removed, but if it is just a small wound or minor swelling, you can try urine combined with propolis.  Adding a few drops of propolis to urine and dipping the affected part of the paw into the solution can disinfect the wound.  There is no set rule on how long to soak, but recommend about five to ten minutes per soak, and repeat a few times as necessary per day.

                                                              Urine Rinse

You can use massage motion with the dressing for dogs with skin disease.  Because dogs are covered with hair, you may want to wipe the area clean with a wet towel after the treatment or lightly wash the area with warm water to keep it from smelling.

                                                             Urine Bath

Another option might be to add urine to reduced bath water when giving the dog a bath.  In this case, rinse the body thoroughly with clean warm water before exiting the tub.
